Annikah Idovia pays tribute to her Caribbean heritage through her ancestral name in the art world. She uncovers the beauty that society often overlooks via her fascination with the intersection of death and rebirth. She considers what damaging societal constructs impact her praxis as a Caribbean and German American woman in the 21st century. Combining the complex topics of human nature, she integrates her Haitian and Black American cultures to depict liberation, power, and resilience.
