Annikah Idovia Godard is a young artist living in 

Chicago,  IL and Portland, OR. She attends the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where she practices painting and drawing and will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Critical Studies in 2026.

Honoring her Caribbean heritage, she embraces her ancestral name in the art world, grounding her practice in themes of identity, resilience, and transformation. Her work navigates the intersection of death and rebirth, uncovering beauty in what society often overlooks. She examines the societal constructs shaping her experience as a Caribbean and German American woman in the 21st century through painting, mixed media, and critical inquiry. Integrating influences from her Haitian and Black American cultures, Godard’s practice embodies liberation, power, and the enduring strength of ancestral legacies.
